Mussar is a Jewish path of spiritual development that leads to awareness, wisdom, and transformation. This course will explore 6 different character traits/middot. As we explore these middot, we will begin to evolve a better understanding of our true nature and acquire tools that can help us break through barriers that have prevented us from becoming our best selves.

Mussar 1 for Parents of Toddler to Teenage Children

Facilitated by Cantor Hollis

1/29, 2/12, 3/5, 3/19, 4/2, 4/30, 5/21 from 9:15-10:45 AM in the Beit Midrash

Your children are already learning about and practicing the middot (traits) that will help them walk through the world as mensches. This is an opportunity to better understand what they are learning so that you can all practice together at home and out in the world. Participants will be required to meet with their assigned chevruta (learning) partner at least once in between each session.

Advanced Mussar

The TST Center for Jewish Spirituality is excited to announce an advanced Mussar courses for students that have completed at least 4 semesters of TST Mussar.

Engaging Your Better Self in Difficult Conversations

Facilitated by Caryl Shaw and Jay Gainsboro

3/2, 3/16, 3/30, 4/13, 4/27, 5/11, 5/25 from 7:15-8:45 PM on Zoom

The course identifies middot/traits that are active when engaging in difficult conversations. Using the wisdom of Mussar combined with the guidelines outlined in Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication, we will discover new ways of approaching difficult conversations.
