Shir Tikva was founded in the summer 1978 on the principle that there are many doors to a meaningful Jewish life. Here you’ll find a community that strives to keep all those entryways vibrant and alive: You’ll discover worship services that are soulful and uplifting, classes for children and adults that draw spiritual meaning and intellectual adventure from Jewish traditions, and Mitzvah-opportunities that are substantial and exciting as we do the work of Tikkun Olam (“world-repair”). We walk the path of the Jewish life cycle with spirit, comfort, and kindness.
Here we celebrate our deep interconnections to Jewish communities in the State of Israel and around the world. And we delight in creating a community of inclusion for all families and individuals in our midst. All this happens in a place where the bonds between our members are drawn deeply and intimately.
There is much going on in this vibrant place. No one can take advantage of it all, but we invite you to seize as much of it as you can. Each of our members, young and old, is invited to explore Jewish tradition here, to mine it for meaning and value for the lives we lead today.
As Rabbi of Temple Shir Tikva, I’d love the opportunity to get to know you and to welcome you into our Jewish sacred community. Toward that end, I invite you to contact me to schedule an appointment so we can discuss how you can find your niche in this spiritual home.
“The day is short, and the task is great,” says our tradition. I look forward to all the good work that we can share together.
Once again, welcome!
