Learning with Rabbi Lisa

2:30 PM – 3:20 PM

Join Rabbi Lisa on Yom Kippur afternoon for a discussion of The Sunflower by Simon Wiesenthal. We will explore the meaning of repentance (teshuvah), forgiveness, and moral responsibility. Through this powerful story and Jewish sources, we will examine the nature of genuine repentance in Jewish tradition, the limits of forgiveness, and how Yom Kippur invites us to reflect on accountability, justice, and reconciliation.

We encourage you to peruse The Sunflower before Yom Kippur afternoon; however, no advance reading is required. The book is available at local libraries and through bookstores. Any edition is fine: Wiesenthal, S. (1998). The Sunflower: On the possibilities and limits of forgiveness. Schocken Books.
