"Work-life balance” is more out of reach than ever for so many of us, but being part of a conversation with others can help to remind us what we already know and give us new insight and support.

Come join a group of fellow parents navigating life in this time, in a low-key, judgment-free Zoom space where we can give and receive support, with the guidance of master facilitator Hadassah Margolis, MSW, LICSW.  Hadassah has over 15 years of experience as a group facilitator and is working with a number of area synagogues to create confidential spaces for congregants to connect and talk to each other, tailored to participants' needs.  In this group, we will share our collective expertise and talk about what it means to parent “out loud” in the time of COVID.

Respect for the different experiences in the group is key, and no one will be asked to share more than they feel comfortable to.

An recommended donation of $18 is requested but not required.  Cost should not be a deciding factor, and we encourage all who are interested in taking part in this group to sign up.

This group is capped at 11 people, to ensure a safe and warm space for all participants.  Please register by noon on April 5.  (If our space fills or if you realize you want to register after 4/5, please email Karen Edwards and we'll see what we can do.)

About Hadassah Margolis, MSW, LICSW: Hadassah is a clinical social worker and Lead Therapist at McLean’s Spirituality and Mental Health Department, where she helped develop the hospital’s first-ever Spirituality and Treatment groups. She is also a staff clinician at the Brandeis Counseling Center. With over 15 years of clinical group work experience, Hadassah uses psychodynamic, psychoeducational, and CBT approaches to engage with and advocate for clients and find commonalities among group members. A 2020 Commonwealth Heroine and a 2019 CJP Chai in the Hub honoree, Hadassah has developed groups, workshops, and talks at synagogues across Greater Boston, and is working to address mental health stigma, increase inclusion, and explore mental health in a holistic way.

Presented by the TST Mental Health Initiative, whose mission is to ensure that Temple Shir Tikva is a warm, friendly, welcoming and supportive community for congregants, their families, visitors and others whose lives have been touched and affected by psychiatric, psychological, substance use issues, and/or emotional difficulties. Because “real life is complicated.”

Sorry, Registration has ended.
