UPCOMING SESSIONS- Registration is open to TST members only

In recent weeks, America has once again been rocked by waves of demonstrations protesting the injustices endured by Black people in our nation. It is clear that we are in a moment of intense reckoning with the long history of racism in our nation that challenges all Americans to confront this issue with new levels of depth and urgency. As a sacred Jewish community that values the work of tikkun olam, healing our broken world, Temple Shir Tikva is committed to undertaking a journey of communal inquiry, learning, dialogue and action focused on understanding and transforming racial injustice in our nation and this critical moment.

As a first step in that journey, we are excited to offer a four session virtual program called Awakening to Race: A Communal Journey. This program will involve four 90 minute virtual sessions that will invite us all to reflect on our own experiences with race, explore dynamics of privilege and oppression, and inquire into the challenges that are most alive for our community at this complex moment. This offering will be limited to 25 participants for a first cohort, should there be significant interest we will explore opening more sessions for future cohorts in the coming weeks and months.

The program is designed and led by our congregant, Max Klau, who is the author of a book on systemic racism and a highly experienced facilitator and educator.
