Holiday Volunteer Opportunities

Shir Tikva members are welcome to volunteer with Good Shepard Parish in Wayland to help prepare and deliver Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to Wayland seniors, shut-ins, Parmenter patients, hospice residences, Family Promise families, homeless people, and SMOC clients, as well as several other agency clients in the area.

Thanksgiving Day Dinner 

We will be preparing and delivering Thanksgiving dinners. Hot dinners are picked up at St. Ann’s kitchen at 11:15 am on Thanksgiving Day for delivery.

Christmas Day Dinner

We will be preparing and delivering Christmas Holiday dinners. Hot dinners are delivered on Monday, Christmas Day, starting at 11:15 a.m. If you know of anyone who would like to receive dinner, please let the Kokinda’s know.

For both Thanksgiving and Christmas, volunteer help is also needed for the following:

• Shop for groceries prior to the holidays

• Cook, either at home or at St. Ann's kitchen

• Bake breads at home and drop off at St. Ann's kitchen

• Bake pies or cakes at home and drop off at St. Ann's kitchen

• Bake Christmas cookies and drop off at St. Ann's kitchen (Christmas only)

• Assemble and package the dinners at St. Ann's kitchen

• Clean up at the kitchen

• Deliver dinners

• Prepare holiday notes to be included with the dinners
