Choirs
Adult Choir
The choir is integral to our High Holiday worship and often sings at our Friday night Simchat Shabbat services throughout the year. Our choir is both a dedicated choral ensemble and an opportunity for ongoing adult education. Becoming a choir member provides a unique opportunity to explore Jewish music from our past and present through a rich and diverse choral repertoire. We welcome anyone who wishes to experience the joy of our Jewish musical heritage, develop and improve their vocal and musicianship skills, and contribute to leading the prayers of our community in an especially powerful way. Rehearsals are led by Cantor Hollis Schachner and our Choir Director Susan DeSelms.

Shirei Yeladim, Youth Choir

Shirei Yeladim—Songs of Children, Temple Shir Tikva’s Youth Choir, is a group of terrific and talented third to sixth grade singers who come together to have fun learning, leading and performing Jewish music. Members of Shirei Yeladim contribute their talent to our community by lifting our spirits in song during holidays, special occasions throughout the year and especially during our monthly Shabbat Family Services. All voices are unique gifts and all are welcome!

Shabbat Shirah, Shabbat of Song
Each year, usually in the winter, our cantor, the combined choirs of Temple Shir Tikva and our intergenerational Klezmer band enliven our already song-filled Shabbat with additional joyous and uplifting music.
