Rabbi Gold's Blog
Why a Rabbi’s Blog? Why Now?
Communication and Connections
I’ve got plenty of forums to connect with people around our community – at Shabbat services, in Hineni, via email, and (oh yes) in person. Why another avenue?
With the launch of our gorgeous new website, I wanted us to have more opportunities to connect with one another. For me, the whole reason why I wanted to go into this line of work was for the relationships. And the most precious gift that technology brings into our lives is the opportunity to cultivate relationships that might otherwise dwindle.
I see this blog—a perpetual work-in-progress—as an opportunity to share thoughts on Jewish spiritual life, current events around Shir Tikva and Israel and the world, and pebbles of wisdom as I stumble across them. Some posts will be brief and to-the-point; others might give me the opportunity to share in more detail ideas I’ve been working on. I’m pretty sure that, as this blog takes wings, it will evolve in ways I haven’t anticipated. And I like the idea of having a forum where we can (in a moderated way) have a dialogue and respond to one another.
If you like what you see, I hope you’ll keep reading and that you’ll share it with others; it is not my intention that this should be a closed list for our local community alone. Rather, it’s an opportunity to expand our conversations. And our relationships.

Rabbi’s Blog? Why Now?
This is great. Can't wait to tell my friends and family "...of course I read our Rabbi's blog, don't you?"
blog
are you going to be posting on a regular basis, so I know when to check for more??
Thanks, Robin, for commenting
Thanks, Robin, for commenting - I think you get a "Shehecheyanu" for making the first comment! Anyhow, I'm getting my sea-legs with the blog: What to write, how often, and how to adjust my writing style (keep it concise) for this medium. It's a work in progress, so stay tuned as we find our rhythm.
