Director of Youth and Informal Education
Adam Smith
Adam
Smith has been working with the teens of Temple Shir Tikva for the past 5
years. Adam coordinates our high school Youth Community program and oversees
various informal opportunities for teens here at the Temple, including
tikkun olam projects, trips and retreats, student teaching and youth group
activities. A product of Temple Isaiah in Lexington, he left the area to get
a BA degree in psychology from The University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Before coming to Shir Tikva he spent two years at Temple Sinai in
Springfield working as their Youth Director.
A special area of interest for Adam has been integrating informal
learning opportunities into our program here at Shir Tikva. He recently took
part in an educators’ mission to Israel addressing how to approach Israel
education, and is always looking for new and innovative ways to present
material to our teens. Adam is currently pursuing his Masters in Jewish
Education degree at Hebrew College in Newton.
